Maureen Kane APN, CDCES, is a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist with 25 years of experience specializing in diabetes management and education of type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, along with the comorbid conditions of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, kidney disease and obesity. Her education includes Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Peter’s College and Master of Nursing from Seton Hall University.
Her passion for diabetes education arose from caring for patients presenting with the complications of diabetes and knowing if she could access these patients earlier with education of their disease process and lifestyle self- management education she could make a difference in their glucose control and quality of life.
Maureen is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists in addition to Sigma Theta Tau the Nurses’ Honor Society.
